How do I get to the El Rey Theatre?

Where can I park?

Self parking is available at 5455 Wilshire Blvd (bring cash!) 
Valet service is available at the front of the venue 15 minutes prior to door time.
Street parking is available after 7pm on Wilshire Blvd. Residential permit parking decal required for neighborhood side streets. Mind the street signs.

Are there any prohibited items?

Items NOT allowed into the El Rey Theatre include but are not limited to:

  • Outside Food Or Beverage
  • Alcohol, Drugs or Illegal Substances
  • Chewing Gum
  • Backpacks (Bags (backpacks, large bags, suitcases, luggage): may not be larger than 14"x14")
  • Glass Bottles, Metal Cans, etc.
  • Fireworks, slingshots, laser pointers, flashlights, etc.
  • Professional camera equipment, tripods, etc. (with the exception of properly credentialed individuals) iPads, tablets
  • Weapons, explosives, pepper spray, tear gas, etc.
  • Pocket knives or blades of any size or style.
  • No Animals (with the exception of service animals)
  • Water guns, toy replica weapons, squirt bottles, soap bubbles, etc.
  • Noise making devices, i.e. horns, cowbells, whistles (LAMC Sec. 41.57.)
  • Beach balls, Frisbees, balloons, brooms, skateboards, roller blades, skates, etc.
  • Balloons, permanent markers, spray paint, stickers
  • Recording devices: audio or video (including GoPro cameras)
  • Selfie Sticks
  • Signs/flags/banners/posters: may not be larger than 11”17” or attached to a pole/stick
  • Masks
  • Umbrellas

Any items deemed inappropriate or unsafe by Management will not be allowed.


When do doors open for a show?

The doors typically open one hour prior to show time. Please refer our Calendar page or the Goldenvoice website for the most up-to-date information.

What are the set times?

We do not post set times. 

Are there any opening acts at the show?

Any support acts will be listed on our Calendar page or the Goldenvoice website. Support acts are often added closer to the show date.

Do you allow re-entry?

No. Once your ticket has been scanned you will not be allowed to leave and re-enter the venue.

Are you an all-ages venue?

Yes, we are an all ages venue. The shows are all ages unless otherwise specified. 

Do you serve food and alcohol?

Yes. You must be over 21 to drink alcohol. You will be asked for ID. 

You can also grab a bite to eat at our friend's next door at El Cartel.

I am a journalist interested in covering a show. Can I get press and photo passes?

We do not approve press or photo passes. Please contact the artist directly. We do not have their contact information.

Can I bring a camera to the show?

No professional recording devices are allowed. This includes professional cameras (any camera with a detachable lens).

How can I meet my favorite band?

You have to contact the band directly. We do not allow access for people to meet the bands.

Do you have a lost and found?

If you lost something at the El Rey, please contact us.

Who do I contact about booking my band at the El Rey?

I tried calling the El Rey and no one answered! What should I do?

Please call us Monday-Friday 10am-6pm if you have a question. Otherwise, leave a voicemail and we'll get back to you as soon as possible (if it's on a weekend, it could be several days). You can also send us an email through our Contact Us page.

What are the costume restrictions?

Facial recognition is required so guest(s) must be able to remove costumes, which cover or alter the facial features to allow for identification verification. Toy Weapons are not allowed (this includes plastic swords, guns, etc). Any props that can be possibly used as a weapon are not permitted. Roller skates, skate boards, scooters are not permitted. Nudity is not permitted.

Do you have a box office where I can buy tickets before a show?

Our box office is open the night of each show when doors open. If the show has not sold out, you can purchase tickets here.

Do you sell tickets at the door?

If a show is not sold out, we will sell tickets at the box office the night of the show when doors open.

How do I find out what shows you have coming up?

Does your theatre have seats?

We are a general admission, standing room only venue. There are options to purchase VIP Table seating on some shows, click here for more information or visit our webstore to see if it is available for your show.

Do you have handicapped seating?

We do accommodate ADA seating. Please contact us ahead of time for more information.

Do you offer VIP table/bottle service?

We do not offer bottle service.

Depending on the show, we sometimes have the VIP balcony open with premium table seating. For more information, visit our VIP Tables page. 

I forgot to print my tickets; can you scan them from my Smartphone?

Yes, but please have them up on your phone prior to entering the venue.
